The cheering crowd, the goosebumps of anticipation, the bond you build with fellow fans surrounding you—there is nothing quite like the feeling of being at a game supporting your team. Toronto is well-known for being a proud city, the true North strong and free. Another thing that Toronto is renowned for… its passionate sports fans.

Toronto has some of the best and most dedicated sports fans out there. Whether it’s the Maple Leafs, Raptors, TFC, the Blue Jays or The Argonauts, you better believe Toronto stands behind their teams, no matter what.

In 2015, The Toronto Blue Jays clinched their first playoff spot since 1993. There wasn’t one person in the city that didn’t participate in the Jays’ #ComeTogether movement. The movement embodied everything that Toronto fans do: stand together and support their teams. Bautista’s bat flip changed the vibe of the game, and baseball in Toronto was re-born.

The Raptors are another Toronto team that erupted back into the spotlight after many years as the underdogs of the league, and the city. Making the playoffs two years in a row, and breaking their own record last year by making it to the Eastern Conference finals for the first time ever, #WeTheNorth was born. After their heartbreaking game-6 loss against the Cavaliers, LeBron James, one of the biggest names in the NBA, praises Toronto fans’ support for their team. James comments on Toronto’s chanting, “Do you hear this? Unbelievable respect and much respect to these fans, to this country – this is unbelievable. I’ve never been a part of something like this in my 13-year career. This is special and I really appreciate what this team did.”

If you’ve ever been to a Toronto FC game, you’ll know that the FanZone section are the best seats in the house! Sitting down is not an option, and if you’re not cooperating in the many songs or chants, you’ll stick out like a sore thumb.

Last but definitely not least, the infamous Toronto Maple Leafs. Now, now, I know everyone is having a hard time supporting our boys in blue. The Leafs have arguably the most loyal fans in the city, if not the league, because despite their less than stellar track record over the past 10 years, you better believe almost every single game still sells out the 20,000 seat Air Canada Centre!

Regardless if their going to the playoffs, winning a championship or haven’t won a stinkin’ game all season, Toronto is backing their teams. We bleed our team colours and we are not afraid to show it. It’s not about winning or losing, it’s about having Toronto pride and loving the teams that represent our city.
